Noro Kureyon is a heritage aran-weight yarn crafted from 100% wool and celebrated for its bold, self-striping colorways and raw, natural texture. Spun in Japan, Kureyon is constructed with two z-twisted singles that are then z-plied together. Though its rustic feel may seem coarse at first, it creates a fabric with character—earthy, warm, and packed with visual interest. The yarn’s slightly uneven spin and visible texture give it a handmade, organic look, and the plies blend colors with soft, artistic transitions, often appearing as blurred or painterly striations.“ くれよん” (Kureyon) means “crayon” in Japanese, a fitting name for a yarn that feels like drawing with fiber.
